Expanding renewable energy

As climate change continues to challenge business operations and how we consume resources, the most recent addition to the portfolio builds on the RO’s history in large scale ground mounted solar development. In 2022 we established RO Energy as a nascent generation business with a 5MW solar development on our 140 acre farm on the western edge of Milton Keynes. Further sites are being considered as we aim to build a stock of generating assets.

Solar project at Potash Farm

Construction has begun at Potash to build and energise the 5.14 MWp ground-mounted solar farm, a step toward expanding renewable energy and sustainability at RO.

Spanning 13 acres, the solar farm will feature 8,788 bifacial photovoltaic (PV) panels [585 watt] to convert sunlight into
renewable energy. Once operational, it will generate enough energy to power the equivalent of 1,000 homes annually, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy independence.
